Supplies:
Old door knob
16 Gauge Tie Wire (rebar wire); found in the building supply sections of home improvement centers

Tools:
Wire cutters
Needle nose pliers
Screwdriver
Work Gloves

Step 1. Remove stem from door knob by unscrewing small screw located on the side of the door knob.
Step 2. Cut length of wire approximately 20 inches long. Put one end through opening where stem was removed and guide wire through hole where the screw was removed. Pull until wire measures equal lengths.
Step 3. Wrap wire 2-3 times around shank of door knob leaving extra wire for decorative tail. Using needle nose pliers; bend wire to form loops for a tail.
Step 4. To form top coil, grab tip of wire with needle nose pliers and roll evenly in a circle until you are about 1-2 inches from shaft of door knob.
